Radhika skipped down the narrow path from her home, her schoolbag bouncing with each step. The flowers along the roadside swayed, as if waving her a good morning. She glanced at her watch and smiled, pleased to be on time.
Mohan, her best friend, was waiting by the big banyan tree, his hair tousled and eyes sleepy. "Good morning, Mohan! Ready for school?" she called out, cheerful as ever.
Mohan yawned, rubbing his eyes, "Morning, Radhika. I almost overslept again," he admitted sheepishly.
"You should try going to bed earlier," suggested Radhika as they walked side by side. The school bell could be heard faintly in the distance, urging them to hurry. Radhika picked up her pace, but Mohan lagged behind, distracted by a butterfly fluttering by.
Radhika made it to class just as the final bell tolled. Her teacher, Mrs. Sharma, smiled at her with approval. "Punctual as always, Radhika," she remarked.
Mohan dashed in moments later, breathless and apologetic. Mrs. Sharma shook her head gently, "Mohan, you must learn the importance of being on time," she advised. Mohan nodded, feeling the weight of her words.
Mrs. Sharma spoke about time management and its importance in life. Radhika listened intently, while Mohan tried hard to stay focused. "Being on time shows respect and helps you succeed," Mrs. Sharma emphasized.
Mohan glanced at Radhika, realizing she was a living example of this lesson. "I promise to be better," he whispered to himself.
Radhika and Mohan walked home together, the air filled with the scent of blooming jasmine. "I think I'll set an alarm tonight," Mohan said with determination.
"That's a great idea, Mohan. You'll see how much easier things become," Radhika replied, her eyes twinkling with encouragement. The two friends laughed and raced each other down the path, their laughter echoing through the peaceful evening.
The next morning, Mohan was up early, ready and waiting for Radhika at the banyan tree. "Look who's early today!" Radhika teased.
"I told you I'd change," Mohan grinned, feeling proud of himself. They walked to school together, both on time and ready for the day ahead, having learned a valuable lesson about the power of being punctual.
