Toby skipped along the cobblestone path leading to Mrs. Higgins' house, his heart light and full of anticipation. Each step brought him closer to his favorite part of the day—visiting the cats.
Mrs. Higgins greeted Toby with a warm smile as he approached, her eyes crinkling with delight. "The cats have been waiting for you all morning," she said, opening the door to let him in.
Whiskers, the fluffy white cat, stretched luxuriously on a sunbeam, while Patches playfully swatted at a drifting butterfly. Stripey wound affectionately around Toby's legs, his grey fur soft and warm.
Toby knelt beside Whiskers, giving her a gentle pat. "You're as soft as a cloud," he murmured, and Whiskers purred in agreement.
Toby waved goodbye, his heart full of warmth. "I'll see you tomorrow, my furry friends," he promised, hearing their meows and purrs as a fond farewell.
Toby smiled to himself, his mind already anticipating the joy of his next visit. To him, the cats were more than just animals; they were cherished companions who filled his days with happiness.
