Tommy the giraffe stands at the edge of the court, his long neck craning to see over the crowd. He nervously taps his hooves, hoping to catch the attention of Rae-Rae the hippo, who sits near the front row with a shiny pale pink bow in her hair. The excitement in the air is as bright as the morning sun.
Tommy glances over at Rae-Rae, his heart thumping. "If I win this game, maybe Rae-Rae will notice me," he whispers to himself. Rae-Rae giggles with her friends, her pink bow catching the sunlight. She waves shyly at Tommy, making his cheeks feel warm with hope.
The game is fast and fun, but Tommy struggles to keep up with the bounce of the ball. Max the meerkat dashes between big players, while Tina the tortoise uses her shell to block shots. "Pass it to me, Max!" calls Tommy, reaching high above the others.
"Here goes nothing!" Max tosses the ball high into the air. With a leap that stretches his long legs, Tommy catches the ball and aims for the hoop. The ball spins and swirls, soaring through the air as everyone holds their breath.
Rae-Rae claps and jumps up and down, her pale pink bow bobbing. Tommy beams with pride, his teammates hugging his long legs. "Tommy, you did it! That was amazing!" shouts Rae-Rae, her voice ringing out.
Rae-Rae climbs carefully up the ladder, the pink bow shining in her hair. Reaching the top, she smiles at Tommy and hands him a sparkling golden medal. "For the tallest and bravest player," she says sweetly. Tommy blushes, his heart soaring higher than any basketball ever could.
