Malik raced ahead, his feet pounding against the ground as he chased after Jayden and Sara. The thrill of the chase filled his heart with joy, and the sound of his friends' laughter echoed in his ears.
"I'm going to catch you guys!" he shouted, his eyes gleaming with determination.
Malik hit the ground with a thud, his hands scraping against the rough surface. As he pushed himself up, he felt a cool breeze against his legs and realized his pants had split wide open.
"Oh no, Malik!" Jayden exclaimed, rushing over with Sara close behind.
"Don't worry, Malik. We've got you," Sara said, offering her hand to help him stand.
Jayden chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, at least you're wearing your cool superhero underwear!"
Malik's face broke into a grin, his earlier discomfort fading away. "Yeah, I guess they are cool," he admitted, shaking his head with a smile.
"Thanks, guys. I don't know what I'd do without you," he added, feeling a swell of gratitude.
Jayden kicked his legs lazily, the chains clinking softly. "This is what friends are for, right? To help each other out, even when things get a bit... unexpected," he said, glancing at Malik with a knowing smile.
Sara nodded, her hair catching the fading sunlight. "Yeah, and to make sure we all have fun, no matter what," she added.
Malik looked at his friends, his heart full. "Today was awesome. Let's do it again tomorrow," he suggested, his earlier embarrassment now just a funny memory.
Jayden and Sara both nodded enthusiastically, their voices harmonizing in agreement. Together, they continued down the path, the sounds of their laughter lingering in the air long after they had gone.
