Mary sat at her desk, tapping her pencil in frustration as Sarah whispered to a friend nearby. The air between them was tense, filled with the echoes of past arguments. "You always think you're right, don't you?" Mary snapped, unable to contain her irritation any longer.
Mary rummaged through her bag, her brow furrowed in concern. "My phone is gone!" she exclaimed, looking around frantically. Her gaze landed on Sarah, who was sitting under a tree, engrossed in a book. "Did you take it, Sarah?" she accused, her voice sharp.
Mary walked towards the field, her mind racing with thoughts of her lost phone. Just as she was about to give up, something shiny caught her eye on the grass. Relief washed over her as she picked up her phone, feeling a wave of embarrassment for her earlier accusation.
Mary approached Sarah hesitantly, holding out a banana. "I'm sorry for accusing you earlier," she said, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "It's okay, we all make mistakes," Sarah replied, accepting the banana with a smile.
Mary and Sarah sat side by side, surrounded by books about animals. Their project required teamwork, and as they discussed their ideas, they found themselves laughing and sharing stories. "I never knew you were so interested in animals," Mary remarked, surprised by how much they had in common.
Mary and Sarah walked along the shoreline, their laughter mingling with the sound of the ocean. Their vacation together had cemented their friendship, turning former adversaries into inseparable companions. "I'm glad we got past all those silly arguments," Sarah said, smiling at Mary.
