Bessie the cow gazed over the fence, her large eyes filled with excitement. Today was special, and she had a plan. Clucky the hen clucked softly beside her, pecking at the ground as she listened intently. "We must make sure everything is perfect for Farmer Tom," she said, her voice filled with determination.
Harry the pig trotted in, his snout twitching with enthusiasm. "I've gathered the freshest apples for the pie," he announced proudly. Clucky fluttered her wings in approval. "And I've got the eggs ready for baking," she added, her feathers ruffling with pride. Together, the animals discussed their roles, each eager to contribute to the surprise.
Bessie carefully arranged the wildflowers she had gathered from the meadow, their vibrant hues brightening the space. "These flowers will surely make Tom smile," she mused. Harry busied himself with preparing the treats, his hooves deftly kneading dough with surprising skill. The smell of baking pies soon filled the air, mingling with the sweet scent of flowers.
Clucky hopped around excitedly, checking that everything was in place. "The banner looks perfect," she chirped, admiring their handiwork. Bessie nodded in agreement, her gaze sweeping over the transformed barn. "All that's left is to bring Tom here," she said, a hint of anticipation in her voice.
Farmer Tom approached the barn, curious about the commotion inside. Bessie, Clucky, and Harry waited in hushed excitement. As Tom opened the barn door, they all shouted in unison, "Surprise! Happy Valentine's Day!" His eyes widened with delight as he took in the festive decorations and the love-filled gestures from his cherished animals.
Tom chuckled warmly, his heart swelling with gratitude. "You all did this for me?" he asked, his voice touched with emotion. Harry nodded, a wide grin on his face. "We wanted to show how much we appreciate you," he replied. Together, they enjoyed the delicious treats, basking in the warmth of friendship and love that filled the air.
