Veya, a three-year-old with radiant dark skin and a halo of bouncy, curly hair, giggles as she leaps high on her bed. Her laughter rings out, mixing with the rustling of her sheets and the distant chirp of morning birds. Each jump sends her a little closer to the ceiling, her eyes wide with delight as she tries to touch the butterfly decals fluttering above her head.
"Butterflies, come play with me!" she calls, reaching up with both hands as if she could pluck the butterflies from the air. Her imagination paints the room with fluttering wings of every color, and she twirls in place, pretending to soar alongside them. The joy in her heart makes even her stuffed animals seem to smile.
Veya freezes mid-jump, eyes growing round with amazement. "Mama! Look, a real butterfly!" she shouts, bouncing over to the window to get a closer look. Her small hands press against the glass, careful not to disturb her delicate guest.
Mama whispers softly, "You see, Veya, butterflies come to those who believe in magic." Veya grins, eyes never leaving the fluttering wings, and nestles closer into her mother's embrace. The room feels even brighter, filled with love and wonder.
"I want to fly with you, butterfly!" Veya announces, bouncing on her toes. "Maybe one day you will, my little butterfly," Mama replies, kissing the top of Veya's curls. The promise of more adventures fills the air, as both mother and daughter watch the butterfly glide out the open window and into the bright, endless sky.
Her curly hair spreads across the pillow like a dark, beautiful cloud. As her eyes flutter shut, a sleepy smile lingers on her lips. Even in her dreams, butterflies dance all around her, and the gentle thump of her heart keeps time with the wings she loves so much.
