Bruno Boreal walked hand in hand with his friend Cora Cottontail toward the swings, the warm sun making the brown fur on his arms feel cozy. All around, other children played and shared, their voices weaving a happy symphony. The soft grass underfoot and the sweet scent of fresh air made Bruno eager to have his turn on the swing.
I noticed that there were already a few kids ahead of us, so I took my place at the end of the line. Cora Cottontail stood beside him, her fluffy ears perked up as she watched the swings go back and forth. "Sometimes waiting feels really long, doesn't it, Bruno?"
I felt my paws tighten and my tummy twist a little, wishing it could be my turn right away. The swings looked so fun, and every minute felt like forever. Cora noticed me bouncing on my toes and gave me a gentle smile.
"When I have to wait, I like to take deep breaths," Cora said, breathing in slowly and letting it out. I tried it too, filling my chest with fresh air and blowing it out just like the wind. "That helps. I can count clouds while I wait, too," I added, spotting a fluffy one shaped like a boat.
At last, it was my turn. I walked to the swing, feeling proud that I had waited patiently. "Thank you for waiting, Bruno! Your turn now!" Cora cheered, hopping up and down.
As I soared through the air, the wind whooshing past my ears, I felt so happy. Waiting my turn had been hard, but with deep breaths and counting clouds, I did it. Cora clapped for me, and I knew I could wait my turn again next time.
