High above the rooftops, the Moon gazed down on the world, feeling lonelier than ever. Its silvery glow had faded, leaving only a faint outline against the night sky. The fields and forests below looked darker, and even the fireflies seemed unsure without their moonlit guide.
The Moon sighed, invisible tears trailing across the sky. "I wonder if anyone even notices that I'm gone," it whispered to itself, its voice barely reaching the earth below. Without its light, the night animals grew restless and the children in the village clung to their blankets, sensing that something was amiss.
Layla, the youngest, peeked out the window and frowned. "Where did the Moon go? The sky feels empty without it," she murmured.
Omar, her older brother, nodded. "Maybe it's sad, or maybe it thinks it isn't important anymore," he said thoughtfully.
Sara, always the dreamer, smiled. "Let’s show the Moon how much it means to us. Maybe if we remind it, the Moon will shine again,"
When they reached the top, they formed a circle and raised their lanterns high. Each child thought of their favorite moonlit memories—the sound of crickets, stories told by starlight, the gentle glow on their pillows at night. "We miss you, Moon! We need your light," Layla called out, her voice ringing through the quiet night.
The Moon listened to the children’s voices, each word weaving warmth into its heart. "I had forgotten how much I mean to the world below," it murmured, shining brighter with every word of encouragement. The animals stirred, the children cheered, and the night blossomed with hope once more.
Omar grinned at his friends. "See? Even the Moon needs reminding how special it is," he said, his eyes sparkling. As the children celebrated, the Moon beamed down with pride, knowing that even the smallest voices could make the biggest difference.
