Pippa the Polar Bear, with her soft white fur and curious eyes, lumbers to the edge of a thinning ice floe, sniffing the chilly air with concern. Beside her, Tiko the Arctic Fox darts from shadow to shadow, his tail bushy and bright against the melting snow. Mila the Walrus, massive and gentle, rests on a slushy patch, her whiskers twitching anxiously, while Sora the Snowy Owl circles gracefully above, scanning the landscape. "Has anyone else noticed how much smaller our ice is this year?" Pippa calls out, her voice tinged with worry.
Tiko hops closer, ears perked. "I tried to cross to Fishy Cove, but the ice was too thin—I almost fell in!" Mila shifts, sending a small wave over the edge. "Our sunbathing rocks are all underwater now. Where will we rest?" From above, Sora swoops lower, her feathers ruffling in the breeze. "Let's find out what's happening. Maybe if we follow the melting ice, we'll find some answers," she suggests, determined.
Pippa leads the way, her giant paws steady on the slippery surface. Tiko darts ahead to scout safer paths, while Mila slides across the wet patches, leaving trails in her wake. Sora soars high, keeping an eye out for danger. "Look at that! The ice used to reach all the way to the horizon," Pippa murmurs, awe and sadness mixing in her voice.
Mila stares at the water, her eyes wide. "I've never seen this much ocean here before. Where is all our ice going?" Tiko sniffs the warm breeze, feeling uneasy. "It feels warmer than last year. Is that why the ice is melting so fast?" Sora lands gently beside them, her gaze thoughtful. "Maybe we should ask the old Narwhal Sage. He knows about the changes in our world,"
"The world is warming, little ones," the Narwhal intones, his voice deep and calm. "The ice melts faster because the air and water are getting hotter. The humans far away burn things that warm the air, and the warmth finds its way here." Pippa listens, her heart heavy. "Is there anything we can do?" "Spread the word. Help humans understand. Every creature, big or small, can make a difference," the sage replies.
Tiko nudges Pippa, smiling a little. "Maybe if we tell our story, someone will listen," he says. Mila raises her flipper in agreement. "We have to try. Our home depends on it," Sora takes flight, her wings catching the last golden rays. "Let's be brave, together," she calls, and the friends set off, their hearts full of courage, ready to protect the place they love.
