Lila sat on her bed, clutching her blanket tightly as the rain drummed soothingly against the window. "Teddy was right here, keeping me safe," she murmured to herself, glancing around the room. "But now he's gone, and I need to find him. Will you help me?"
Lila leaned over and lifted the blanket, hoping to find her missing friend. Instead, she found Fred, the family cat, snoring loudly, curled up like a fluffy cloud. "Oh, Fred, you’re not Teddy," she whispered with a giggle.
Lila tiptoed to the toy chest and carefully opened it. Toys cascaded out with a clatter, but no Teddy appeared. "Just a hat and a ladder," she sighed, closing the lid softly.
Lila ventured outside, the grass wet beneath her feet. She spotted a squirrel darting up a tree and a bunny nibbling on flowers. "No Teddy here, either," she said, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
Lila quietly approached the door, peeking behind it with anticipation. A red sock lay on the floor beside a racing car, but Teddy was nowhere in sight. "He can’t be far now," she thought, determination renewing her search.
Lila returned to her room, her eyes scanning every corner. Suddenly, she noticed a familiar shape under her pillow. With a joyful gasp, she lifted it to find Teddy waiting for her. "Teddy! There you are!" she exclaimed, hugging him tightly.
Lila settled back into bed, holding Teddy close. "Now we can sleep, cozy and warm," she whispered, feeling safe and content. "Goodnight, Teddy, my friend, my buddy." And with that, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.
