Wendy the Wiggly Worm peeked out from under a wet leaf, her tiny body glistening in the warm morning light. She stretched and wriggled, excited for a brand new day, but also feeling a little lonely deep down. Today, she hoped to find a friend who liked to wiggle and explore just like her.
Wendy dug her way deeper into the earth, singing a little tune to herself. She wished for a wormy friend who could sing along or play hide-and-seek in the tunnels. Suddenly, she heard a gentle giggle from nearby.
Willie the Wiggly Worm popped his head out beside a shiny pebble, looking just as wiggly as Wendy. His stripes glimmered in the sun, and he smiled shyly. "Hi! I’m Willie. I like to wiggle and find sparkly stones. Do you want to play?"
Wendy wiggled with excitement and nodded. "Yes, Willie! Let’s see who can find the shiniest pebble," she cheered. Together, they twisted and turned, searching for treasures and giggling whenever they bumped into each other.
As the rain fell, Willie slipped into a tiny puddle and felt scared. "Oh no, Wendy! I’m stuck. What if I can’t get out?" he called out. Wendy hurried over, feeling worried but determined to help her new friend.
"Don’t worry, Willie. I’m here for you. We can wiggle together and get out," Wendy encouraged. With teamwork and patience, they slowly slipped out of the puddle, feeling proud and happy. The rainbow above seemed to shine just for them.
Willie beamed, feeling safe and loved. "Thank you, Wendy! You’re a wonderful friend. I’m so glad we met," he said. Wendy wiggled with joy, knowing that kindness and caring made their friendship strong and special.
