Asher sat cross-legged on the wooden floor, surrounded by scraps of cardboard and tubes of glitter. His imagination soared as he crafted wings, each cut and fold bringing him closer to his dream.
Lila peered in from the doorway, her eyes wide with curiosity and a mischievous grin on her face.
"What are you making, Asher?" she asked, stepping into the attic.
"Wings to fly with the angels," Asher replied, his voice filled with determination. "Tonight, we're going to find the path to the stars."
Asher and Lila worked side by side, their hands busy applying glue and glitter. The wings began to take shape, a kaleidoscope of colors reflecting the dreams held within their hearts.
"Do you really think we can fly?" Lila asked, her eyes sparkling with wonder.
"We have to believe," Asher said with conviction. "The angels will guide us."
Asher and Lila emerged from the attic, wings strapped securely to their backs. They stood on the rooftop, the world below a patchwork quilt of rooftops and gardens.
"On the count of three," Asher whispered, his heart pounding with anticipation.
"One... two... three!" Lila shouted, and together they leapt into the night sky.
Their wings caught the air, and for a moment, Asher and Lila felt weightless, as if the stars themselves were pulling them upwards. Below, the world seemed to vanish, replaced by the infinite possibilities of the cosmos.
"Look, Lila! We're flying!" Asher exclaimed, his voice a melody of joy.
"It's just like you said, Asher," Lila replied, her heart brimming with excitement.
As they soared higher, Asher and Lila beheld a wondrous sight. Angels, their wings shimmering with celestial light, greeted them with warm smiles and open arms.
"Welcome, little dreamers," an angel spoke, her voice like a soft melody.
"We knew you'd find your way," Lila replied with awe.
Asher and Lila descended slowly, their wings gliding effortlessly on the morning breeze. They landed softly back on the rooftop, their adventure etched forever in their hearts.
"We'll fly with the angels again," Asher promised, his spirit unbounded by earthly constraints.
"And we'll always believe," Lila agreed, knowing that their hearts would always hold the magic of the night.
