Luna, a little fox with a coat as fiery as the sunset, bounded into the clearing, her paws leaving delicate prints in the untouched snow. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she glanced around, her breath puffing out in small clouds. "Nibbles! Where are you?" she called out, her voice echoing through the stillness.
"Right here, Luna! Ready to play?" he chattered, jumping onto the snow beside her. Together, they began to roll the snow into massive balls, giggling as they worked to create the foundation of their snow fort. The fort quickly rose, a testament to their teamwork.
"Take this, Nibbles!" Luna exclaimed, launching a perfectly formed snowball that burst in a flurry against the fort wall. Nibbles responded in kind, his aim true as he lobbed a snowball back, both of them collapsing in giggles.
Luna and Nibbles lay side by side on the snow, their breath mingling in the cold air. "I love the stars," Luna whispered, her eyes reflecting the heavens. "They're like little snowflakes of light," Nibbles replied, his tail curling around him for warmth.
"Do you remember the time we found that hidden grove?" Luna asked, her eyes wide with remembrance. "How could I forget? That was the best day!" Nibbles replied, his laughter ringing like a bell.
"Let's do this again tomorrow," Luna murmured, her voice trailing off as she nestled into the warmth of Nibbles' fur. "Always," Nibbles promised, the two drifting into dreams beneath the watchful eyes of the stars.
