Wyatt Jacob, a 10-year-old boy with short black hair, striking green eyes, and fair skin, shifts uncomfortably in his spotless white clothes. The teachers’ stern faces pass by as Wyatt overhears a group of older students muttering about the school’s latest ban on science.
Charlie Max, a clever 15-year-old boy with a quick wit and a mischievous glint in his eye, leans in to whisper to Wyatt and a few others. "I know the real reason they banned science. It's not about safety—they just want to keep their teachers' club a secret and laugh at us," he says, glancing furtively at the staffroom windows.
Jacob, the 10-year-old boy chosen as the secret club’s leader, stands nearby, trying to look nonchalant as he clutches a crumpled blueprint.
Charlie Max rallies the group, his voice low but determined. "We’ll build the shrinking ray tonight. No one will suspect us if Jacob is our leader. Teachers always ignore the little kids,"
Jacob looks nervous, his eyes darting between the device and the door. "Are you sure this is safe? What if something goes wrong?" he asks, but the older kids laugh it off, already assembling the final pieces.
Suddenly, the door creaks open and a new face appears—Ben Henry, a 15-year-old tour student with blue short hair, green eyes, and fair skin, dressed in blue clothes. He stumbles inside, curious.
"Whoa, what’s this thing?" he asks, reaching out and accidentally pressing the big red button. A brilliant flash erupts, hitting both Wyatt Jacob and Ben Henry, shrinking them down to the size of action figures.
Jacob freezes in panic, glancing at the tiny boys and then at the door. When footsteps thunder down the hall, he bolts, leaving the shrunken boys alone as chaos erupts outside.
Bob[/@ch_5], a cheerful 10-year-old club member, arrives carrying a lunchbox. The world is a giant landscape to the shrunken boys, with crumbs looming like boulders and a sandwich the size of a mattress.]
Bob plunks the lunchbox down, oblivious to the chaos inside. The shrunken Wyatt Jacob and Ben Henry scramble to climb out, shouting for help, but their voices are too faint to be heard.
Bob unknowingly scoops up his lunch, nearly swallowing Wyatt in the process, while Ben barely escapes into the folds of a napkin. The boys’ panic mounts as they realize they’re trapped, and the club’s leader is nowhere to be found.
Wyatt Jacob and Ben Henry manage to tumble out of the lunchbox, hearts pounding, only to realize they’ve been carried far from help. The shrinking ray, they hear, has been smashed by bullies—their only hope of returning to normal is gone. Dwarfed by soda cups and dodging giant sneakers, they desperately search for safety.
"We have to find someone who can help us, Ben! We can’t stay like this forever,"
"But who would believe us? We’re the size of a bug," Ben replies, his voice trembling.
Liam Greg[/@ch_6], a 12-year-old American boy with sandy hair and a carefree smile, strolls through the arcade. He’s wearing a blue shirt with a kangaroo logo, his pockets bulging with souvenirs. He chats on his phone, oblivious to the two tiny stowaways scrambling up his shirt pocket.]
Wyatt and Ben hitch a ride, clinging for dear life as Liam exits the shopping centre.
"I think he’s our only chance, Wyatt. Maybe he’ll notice us once he’s home,"
But Liam is heading to the airport, boarding a flight back to America. As the city fades beneath the airplane’s wings, Wyatt and Ben trade frightened looks, realizing their adventure is only just beginning—and that they may be traveling farther from home than they ever imagined.
