Yumna, a bright-eyed six-year-old with two playful braids, stands on a small stool beside her mother. She carefully hands her mom a spoon, her face beaming with pride as she helps set the breakfast table. Mom, a gentle woman with a warm smile, watches her daughter fondly. "Mom, I love helping you! Can I pour the juice too?"
Mom kneels beside Yumna, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Yumna, guess what? Today we’re going to the zoo for the very first time!" Yumna's mouth forms a perfect “O” of surprise, and she spins around, hugging her mom tightly. "Really? The zoo with real animals? I can’t wait!"
Yumna presses her nose to the window, eyes wide as she watches the world rush by. Her backpack, decorated with cartoon animals, sits on her lap. "What animal are you most excited to see?" Yumna grins, swinging her legs. "Lions! And maybe monkeys too! Do you think they’ll like me?"
Yumna clutches her mother’s hand as they walk beneath a giant archway shaped like an elephant. She gazes up at colorful signs pointing toward different animal enclosures. "Let’s start with the lions, just like you wanted," Mom suggests, and together they follow the winding path deeper into the zoo.
Yumna stands on tiptoe, her hands pressed to the glass as she watches a majestic lion yawn and stretch. She giggles as a group of monkeys leap overhead, their antics drawing smiles from the crowd. "Look, Mom! The lion looks so sleepy, but the monkeys are so silly!" Mom laughs, squeezing her daughter's shoulder. "Each animal is special in its own way, just like you, Yumna."
Yumna skips beside her mom, clutching a tiny stuffed lion as a souvenir. She looks up, her cheeks flushed with happiness. "Thank you for bringing me, Mom. I want to come back and see all the animals again!" Mom smiles, pulling her daughter close as they walk toward the exit, the evening air filled with the gentle songs of the zoo’s birds.
