Zariah bounced in her seat, her eyes wide with anticipation. Her classmates chattered eagerly around her, their excitement almost palpable. The bus door swung open, and their teacher, Mrs. Johnson, smiled warmly at the children. "Are you ready for an adventure?"
Zariah leaned towards the window, her tiny fingers tracing the glass. "Look, everyone! There's a group of monkeys swinging in the trees!" she exclaimed, pointing excitedly. Her best friend, Ellie, joined her at the window. "How many do you see, Zariah?"
Zariah counted aloud, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "One, two, three... I see three zebras and four antelopes!" she announced proudly. Her classmates joined in, their voices a cheerful symphony of numbers. Mrs. Johnson nodded approvingly. "Great job, everyone! Keep counting!"
Zariah gasped as she spotted the elephants. "Wow! They're so big!" she whispered, eyes wide. Her friend Sam nudged her, grinning. "Let's count them too!" Together with the other children, they counted the elephants, their laughter ringing through the bus.
Zariah sat back, her heart full of joy. "We saw so many animals and counted them all!" she said, beaming. Mrs. Johnson clapped her hands. "You all did a wonderful job today. I'm so proud of you!" The children cheered, their newfound counting skills bringing them closer together.
Zariah hugged her friends goodbye, her heart warm with the day's adventures. "I can't wait for our next field trip!" she exclaimed. As she walked hand in hand with her mom, she looked back at the bus, already dreaming of the next adventure that awaited them.
