Zayni springs up from her bed, her curly hair bouncing as she giggles and twirls. The room glows with morning light, and crayons are already strewn across her little table. She grabs a purple crayon and starts coloring a giant sun, humming softly to herself.
Zayden, her older brother, races outside with a soccer ball tucked under his arm. Zayni follows, clutching her favorite stuffed bunny. "Ready for adventure, Zayni?" "Yes! Let’s go!" she cheers, her tiny feet dancing across the wet grass.
Zayden teaches Zayni how to listen for the rustle of squirrels and the songs of birds. Zayni stops to watch a ladybug crawl on her finger, her eyes wide with wonder. "Why does the ladybug have spots?" she asks curiously. "Each one is special, just like you," Zayden replies, smiling.
With a giggle, Zayni starts to twirl and dance, her arms stretched wide. Zayden claps along, encouraging her to sing her favorite song. "I love to dance with you, Omar!" she sings, spinning until she falls into a fit of laughter.
Zayden shows Zayni how to skip stones, demonstrating with a smooth flick. Zayni tries, her stone plopping happily into the water. "It's okay to try again! That was great for your first time," Zayden encourages, and Zayni beams with pride, eager to learn more.
Zayni leans sleepily against Zayden, her day of adventures nearly done. "Can we go on another adventure tomorrow?" she asks, her voice soft. "Every day with you is an adventure, Zayni," Zayden replies, and together they watch the first stars twinkle above.
