Ember bounced eagerly on the balls of her feet, her blonde hair catching the morning sun as she clutched her little sister's hand.
Ev, wide-eyed and curious, gazed at the vibrant posters of animals that adorned the entrance.
"Look, Ev! We're finally here!"
Ev's eyes sparkled as they approached the monkey habitat, where playful primates swung from branches.
"Monkeys, Ember! Look how they jump!"
Ember giggled, her eyes following the nimble creatures with fascination.
Mom lifted Ev onto her hip for a better view, while Dad snapped photos with a proud smile.
"They're so big!" Ev exclaimed.
Ember nodded, her blue eyes wide with wonder.
Ember pointed at a brilliant scarlet macaw perched nearby, its feathers shimmering in the light.
"I want to have wings like that!"
Ev laughed, imagining herself flying high above the trees.
Dad handed Ember and Ev their sandwiches, while Mom poured juice into cups adorned with animal prints.
"This is the best day ever," Ember declared between bites.
"I love the zoo!" Ev chimed in happily.
Ember and Ev walked hand in hand, their hearts full of memories.
"We'll come back soon," Mom promised as they passed through the gates.
"Next time, we'll see the lions," Dad added with a wink, as the adventure ended but the excitement lingered.
