Zy blinked at the strange feeling in his mouth, his eyes darting to the pillow where two tiny teeth lay side by side.
"Oh no! My teeth!"
He poked at the gap with his tongue, frowning and then giggling at the odd sensation. Sunbeams danced across his dinosaur pajamas, and somewhere outside, birds chirped a mischievous tune, as if they already knew today would be anything but ordinary.
Zy shuffled in, still clutching his teeth, only to spot the envelope with his name written in shimmering ink.
He ripped it open and read aloud, "Dear Zy, your magical adventure begins when you find the Tooth Fairy’s hidden door. Follow the trail of silver sparkles. Good luck!"
His mother peeked over her mug, winking secretly, but said nothing as Zy scrambled for his shoes, heart pounding with excitement.
Zy followed the shimmering trail, eyes wide, until he knelt by the tree and gasped—tiny golden hinges and a crystal doorknob glimmered in the bark.
"Whoa, is this really it?"
He knocked gently, and the door swung open with a soft chime. Cool, sweet-smelling air wafted out, and Zy crawled through without a second thought.
A tiny, radiant figure flitted toward him, wings humming like a bumblebee’s.
Lila the Tooth Fairy, Keeper of Smiles, appeared in a dress made of rose petals and moonbeams.
"Welcome, Zy! I see you’ve brought your broken teeth. Here, every lost tooth holds a wish—what’s yours?"
Zy thought for a moment, eyes sparkling. "I wish for a magical smile that makes everyone laugh and feel happy," he declared.
The teeth spun faster, then burst into a thousand confetti pieces, swirling around Zy and settling into a new, gleaming gap-toothed grin. Lila clapped her hands in delight, and the entire land erupted in joyful laughter.
Zy grinned at his reflection in the garden pond, discovering his new magical smile—whenever he grinned, rainbows flickered in the water and butterflies danced around him.
He raced back inside, laughter bubbling up as his mother spun around, caught in the magic herself.
"Guess what, Mom? I had the best adventure ever—and my smile is magic now!"
