Sam Puckett stretched her arms wide, feeling the exhaustion from the long day. Her stomach growled audibly, reminding her of her usual post-show hunger. Carly Shay was busy tidying up some of the props, her mind already on the next episode.
"Hey, Carly, feel like grabbing a bite?" Sam asked, her voice filled with hopeful anticipation.
"I wish I could, Sam, but I've got to finish editing these clips before tomorrow," Carly replied apologetically.
Fredward Benson, known as Freddie, glanced up as Sam approached. "What about you, Freddie? Up for some food?"
"Sam, I've got homework to finish," Freddie protested, though his stomach betrayed him with a low rumble.
"Homework can wait," Sam declared, effortlessly hoisting Freddie over her shoulder. His protests were drowned out by her laughter as she carried him out into the night.
Freddie finally settled into a booth, his cheeks flushed from the unexpected journey. Sam grinned across the table as they dug into their meals, the weariness of the day melting away with each delicious bite.
"I can't believe you carried me all the way here," Freddie admitted, shaking his head in disbelief.
Freddie reached for his wallet, insisting on paying for their dinner, much to Sam's surprise.
"You deserve a piggyback ride home for that," Sam announced, crouching down. Freddie climbed onto her back, marveling once again at her strength as they made their way back through the vibrant city streets.
