Clara the Chicken blinks sleepily, stretching her wings while the farm slowly comes to life around her. She gazes at her friends, a piglet snuffling in the dirt and a sheep munching on clover, her heart swelling with gratitude for another day. The farm feels safe, but Clara can’t shake a worry lingering in her mind.
Percy the Piglet, round and pink, waddles up to Clara with a curious snort. Daisy the Sheep follows, her woolly coat flecked with bits of grass. "What's on your mind, Clara? You look worried," he asks, tilting his head.
"I had a dream last night," Clara begins, her voice trembling. "I was being chased, and no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't escape. I’m scared... What if one day, our friendship isn't enough to keep me safe?" A heavy silence settles among them.
"Clara, we'd never let anything happen to you," assures Daisy. "Friends stick together, no matter what. Maybe we can show the farmer we're more than just animals—we’re a family," suggests Percy. Clara feels hope flicker in her chest.
"Let’s do something special—something the farmer can’t ignore," Percy says with a mischievous grin. "What if we put on a show, right here in the yard? If we make him laugh, maybe he’ll see we belong together," proposes Clara. "I’ll dance, Percy can sing, and Clara, you can lead us!" Daisy exclaims.
Clara struts across the "stage," clucking in rhythm while Percy belts out a surprisingly tuneful oink-song. Daisy pirouettes, her hooves barely making a sound on the soft earth. The farmer’s stern face melts into a wide grin, and laughter rings out across the farm.
Clara beams at her friends, her fears eased by their unwavering support. "See, Clara? Friends don’t eat friends—they help them shine," Percy whispers. As the sun dips low, the three friends sit side by side, knowing they are truly safe—as long as they stand together.
