The room was filled with a gentle hum of activity as Dadi stood with a determined look in her eyes. She declared, "I have decided to lose weight, and from now on, I will only eat thin leaves!" Her announcement was met with surprise, as Dadaji raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Leaves? Which leaves?" Dadi smiled, "Vegetable leaves! Spinach, fenugreek, coriander... just leaves!"
As the evening settled, the kitchen buzzed with activity. Bahu, the daughter-in-law, was busy cooking when Dadi peeked in curiously, "Daughter, what are you making today?" Bahu replied cheerfully, "Today there are only leaves, Dadi! I am making spinach paneer." Dadi shook her head, "Oh no no, only leaves! Don't put paneer!" With a playful smile, Bahu explained, "But Dadi, paneer comes with the leaves!"
Dinner was served, and the family gathered around the table. Dadi eyed the dish in front of her, spotting paneer mixed with spinach. She sighed with a hint of amusement, "Okay fine, a little paneer will do. But remember, only eat leaves!"
As the meal progressed, Dadi noticed something unexpected. Among the leaves and paneer, there was a splash of red—tomato! Her eyebrows furrowed as she asked, "What is this? I said only leaves!" Bahu chuckled softly, "But Dadi, tomato is also a leaf!"
Dadi paused and examined the tomato. Realizing the humor in Bahu's words, she broke into a wide smile, "Alright, alright, you win!" Her laughter echoed around the room, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
As the evening wound down, the family shared stories and laughter. Dadi reflected on the day's events, understanding that sometimes, things are not always what they seem. With a content heart, she concluded, "It's the little surprises that make life delightful."
