Zagreus leaned back against the plush cushions of his couch, his fingers intertwined with those of his boyfriend, Thanatos. The son of Hades sighed contentedly, relishing the tranquility.
"Finally, some peace and quiet," he mused, turning to Thanatos with a soft smile.
"It's rare, isn't it?" Thanatos replied, his voice a gentle whisper that matched the serene atmosphere.
Achilles strode in, oblivious to the couple's startled expressions.
"Zagreus, have you seen my spear? I swear it was here somewhere," he demanded, eyes scanning the room.
Zagreus sighed, releasing Thanatos's hand reluctantly.
"Achilles, it might be in the training yard. Again," he suggested, trying to maintain his composure.
"One would think a legendary warrior could keep track of his own weapons," Thanatos quipped, a hint of laughter in his voice.
Zagreus chuckled, nodding in agreement.
"Let's hope that's the last of it," he said, shifting closer once more.
Megara crossed her arms, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything too important," she teased, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Zagreus groaned, though he couldn't help but smile at her boldness.
"Important? Never," he replied with playful sarcasm.
Thanatos listened attentively, a small smile tugging at his lips as he watched the banter unfold.
"Alright, you've had your fun. Now shoo, all of you," Zagreus urged, waving them off.
Megara laughed, relenting as she exited the room, closing the door softly behind her.
Thanatos shook his head gently.
"We should savor this while it lasts," he suggested, his gaze softening.
Zagreus nodded in agreement.
"Indeed. Let's make the most of it," he murmured, leaning closer as the candlelight flickered warmly around them, promising at least a moment of uninterrupted peace.
