Matt arrived for his first week at the day care, his backpack slung over one shoulder and a confident grin on his face. He glanced around at the pastel playpens and thought about the paycheck waiting for him at the end of summer. "This'll be a breeze. Diapers and bottles, how hard can it be?" he mused, picking up a rattle from the floor.
Matt struggled to keep up as he juggled bottle feedings, diaper changes, and cleaning up mysterious messes. His enthusiasm faded by the fifth day, and he slumped in a beanbag chair, ignoring the chorus of fussing babies. The other employees exchanged frustrated glances, their patience wearing thin.
Jane, a seasoned caregiver with sharp eyes and a quick wit, leaned in toward her coworkers. "We can't keep covering for Matt. I saw this ad for Watkins Tonic—supposed to make you younger. What if we slipped it into his soda at lunch?" The room buzzed as the others considered her mischievous proposal, a mix of disbelief and intrigue.

Jane seized the opportunity, uncapping a vial of Watkins Tonic and quickly pouring it into Matt's soda. She exchanged a conspiratorial glance with a coworker as Matt returned, oblivious, and finished his lunch with gusto. "Let's see if it really works," she whispered under her breath.

Within half an hour, Matt felt dizzy and weak, pains rippling through his body. He whimpered, his voice shrinking to a high-pitched cry. When Jane went looking for him, she found not the teenage slacker, but an 8-month-old baby, still swimming inside oversized clothes and sobbing helplessly.

Jane carefully removed the tangled clothing and soothed the transformed Matt with gentle words. "Shhh, it's okay. Looks like your summer job just got a lot more... babyish," she chuckled softly as she fastened his first diaper. The other staff peeked in, a mixture of relief and disbelief on their faces, watching Jane handle the situation with practiced ease.
