Matt stood at the door, hesitating for a moment. The surgery had left him with more than just scars. He took a deep breath, feeling the soft rustle of the adult diaper beneath his jeans, and stepped inside. His roommates, Luca, Marco, and Stefano, were sprawled across the living room, engrossed in a video game.
"Hey guys, I'm back," Matt announced, trying to keep his tone light.
Luca paused the game, turning to face Matt. "Hey man, how are you feeling? Everything went okay, right?"
Matt hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, there's something I need to tell you. The surgery... it didn't go as expected," he admitted, his voice tinged with vulnerability.
Marco looked up, concerned. "What happened?"
"I, uh, have to wear this now," Matt said, gesturing awkwardly to his waist.
Stefano was the first to break the silence, a grin spreading across his face. "Well, at least you won't have to fight for the bathroom anymore," he joked, his laughter infectious.
Luca chuckled, shaking his head. "Man, we'll have to get you some custom pants with extra room," he added, playfully nudging Matt.
Marco leaned back, a serious note entering his voice. "Honestly, Matt, it doesn't change anything. You're still you, and we're here for whatever you need," he said, sincerity in his eyes.
Matt felt a wave of gratitude, the tension in his shoulders easing. "Thanks, guys. I wasn't sure how you'd take it," he confessed, relief evident in his voice.
Stefano raised his soda can in a mock toast. "To Matt, the most stylish diaper-wearer we know!" he exclaimed, earning a round of laughter from the group.
Matt grinned, a sense of belonging enveloping him. "To friends who make everything better," he replied, clinking his can against theirs.
As the evening wore on, Matt realized that his new reality, though challenging, was something he didn't have to face alone. With friends like Luca, Marco, and Stefano, he felt ready to tackle whatever came next.
