Jeffy, noticeably rounder than usual, lounges on the couch with crumbs dotting his blue shirt and a satisfied grin on his face. Mario, his adoptive father, enters, brow furrowed at the mess.
"Jeffy! What happened in here? And... are those all the cookies?"
"Yeah, Daddy. I was hungry so I ate 'em all! Mmm, cookies are the best!"
Mario sighs, glancing between the empty boxes and Jeffy's round belly. Rosalina, gentle and caring, walks in with a basket of fresh fruit.
"Jeffy, sweetie, have you been eating anything besides snacks?"
"Uhhh... does pizza count as fruit?"
"Jeffy, we need to do something about this. Tomorrow, you're going outside for some exercise."
Jeffy waddles outside, clutching a juice box, while Mario demonstrates a squat with awkward enthusiasm. Rosalina encourages from the porch.
"Come on, Jeffy! Just five jumping jacks!"
"Ughhh, but Daddy, my legs don't wanna jump! They only wanna sit!"
"You can do it, Jeffy! Maybe just try a little at a time."
Jeffy tiptoes in, eyes wide, reaching for a brownie. Mario intercepts him, holding up a bowl of salad instead.
"No more treats tonight, Jeffy. If you want dessert, you have to eat some salad first."
"But Daddy, salad is for rabbits! I want brownies!"
Jeffy[/@ch_1] tossing in bed. Moonlight streams in, illuminating a poster of a superhero on the wall.]
Jeffy stares at his reflection in a mirror, poking his belly and frowning. He remembers how tired he felt during exercise and the worried look on Mario's face.
"Maybe... maybe I could try a little harder tomorrow. Maybe salad isn't so bad if I get brownies after..."
Jeffy[/@ch_1] sits at the table, munching on apple slices while Mario and Rosalina smile proudly.]
"We're so proud of you, Jeffy! See? Healthy food can be yummy too."
"Yeah, I guess apples are okay. But I'm still getting that brownie after, right?"
"Only if you keep up the good work, buddy."
The family laughs together, the room filled with hope and a hint of mischief in Jeffy's eyes as he plots his next snack—but maybe, just maybe, a carrot this time.
