John[/@ch_1], a bespectacled man in his forties, and two exuberant boys, Jame and Ben—sit cross-legged around a glowing, mysterious board game on the coffee table.]
[@ch_1]"Okay, boys, last round before bedtime! Roll the dice, Jame,"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_2]"But Dad, this card says 'Trade your age with your best friend!'"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_3]"Wait, so I become you and you become me? This is awesome!"[/@ch_3_d]
A sudden flash of blue light fills the room. When the glow fades, the world feels… different.
Jame[/@ch_2] and Ben—now middle-aged, share a knowing glance as they stand by the kitchen island. John, now a lanky, sun-tanned young man in his twenties, rubs his eyes in confusion.]
[@ch_1]"Why do my hands look so… young? And why am I wearing a wetsuit?"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_2]"Dude, you look like you could headline the college surf team,"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_3]"And I think we just got… older. But, like, way older. And… married?"[/@ch_3_d]
[@ch_2]"Weird. But kinda cool. Want some avocado toast, son?"[/@ch_2_d]
John[/@ch_1] sits on a surfboard, staring out at the sea, as Jame and Ben, now a married couple, walk hand-in-hand down the beach.]
[@ch_1]"So… I'm your son now? I mean, you guys are… my dads?"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_3]"Pretty much. And you definitely inherited our board skills, champ,"[/@ch_3_d]
[@ch_2]"Also, heads up. We have another son. Billy should be here any minute,"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_1]"Wait, what?!"[/@ch_1_d]
Billy[/@ch_4], sprints towards the group, his cheeks flushed and a toy dinosaur clutched in one hand.]
[@ch_4]"Daddies! Look, I found a seashell!"[/@ch_4_d]
[@ch_2]"Great find, Billy! Come meet your big brother, John,"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_1]"Uh, hey there, Billy. I guess I'm… your brother now?"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_4]"You look funny. Wanna build a sandcastle?"[/@ch_4_d]
Jame[/@ch_2] and Ben lean on each other, while John and Billy toast marshmallows, laughter echoing across the shore.]
[@ch_3]"So, son, how does it feel to have two dads and a little brother?"[/@ch_3_d]
[@ch_1]"Honestly? Weird, but kinda awesome. You guys make a pretty great family,"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_2]"Weird is what we do best. Tomorrow, we hit the waves together,"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_4]"And build the biggest sandcastle ever!"[/@ch_4_d]
[@ch_1]"Maybe we should try that game again tomorrow. See what happens,"[/@ch_1_d]
[@ch_2]"Or maybe just stick to Monopoly,"[/@ch_2_d]
[@ch_3]"Either way, as long as we're together, it'll be an adventure,"[/@ch_3_d]
