Motu awoke with a start, the enticing scent of *kashkoul* tickling his nose. He sat up, only to find his bed littered with crumbs. Confused, he rubbed his eyes and looked around. "How did these get here?" he wondered aloud.
Patlu was already up and about, sipping tea at Chaiwala's stall. He noticed Motu approaching, looking more bewildered than usual. "Motu, you look like you've seen a ghost! What's wrong?"
"It's the *kashkoul*, Patlu!" Motu exclaimed. "I woke up surrounded by crumbs, and I don't remember eating any!"
Patlu, ever the detective, suggested they follow the trail of crumbs. Their path led them past Ghasitaram's quirky gadget shop, where a peculiar device hummed softly. "Could this be connected?" Patlu mused.
"I was with you all day yesterday, Patlu. This is a real mystery!" Motu replied, scratching his head.
"Let's check with Dr. Jhatka," Patlu suggested, pointing to the lab. They entered to find the eccentric scientist tinkering with a peculiar machine.
Dr. Jhatka looked up, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Ah, my friends! Just the people I wanted to see," he greeted them. "I may have accidentally set my sleepwalking machine on the wrong frequency."
"Sleepwalking machine?" Patlu asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, yes! It was meant to help people walk in their sleep, but it seems to have affected Motu's appetite instead!" Dr. Jhatka explained with a chuckle.
"So I ate all the *kashkoul* while sleepwalking?" Motu said, a sheepish grin spreading across his face.
Patlu patted Motu on the back. "Well, at least we know what happened. But maybe lay off the late-night snacks for a while, eh?"
"I can't help it if I have good taste in my sleep!" Motu chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Dr. Jhatka waved them off with a smile. "I'll make sure my inventions don't cause any more midnight feasts!"
As they walked back into the heart of Furfuri Nagar, Motu couldn't help but wonder when his next adventure would come.
