Sharell stood by the punch bowl, a merry twinkle in her eye as she swayed slightly, the effects of too many glasses of bubbly evident. "This is the best party ever!" she exclaimed, her words slightly slurred but filled with joy. Hoges was nearby, watching the scene unfold with a grin. He suddenly clapped his hands and pulled his guitar from behind the bar, without warning, broke into a loud and enthusiastic rendition of “Jingle Bells.” His voice filled the room, drawing amused glances and encouraging a few to join in the impromptu sing-along.
"You like them?" Maree asked, striking a playful pose. Naish, clipboard in hand, shook his head in mock disapproval but couldn't hide his amusement.
"Remember, folks, pace yourselves!” he called out, though his voice was barely heard over the music and laughter. Steve stood beside him, nodding enthusiastically.
"100%, that's the goal, everyone!" he declared, raising his glass high. His enthusiasm was infectious, earning him a chorus of cheers from the crowd.
"To friendship and good times!" Sharell toasted, clinking glasses with Hoges and Maree. Their laughter mingled with the music, creating a symphony of joy that filled the room.
Naish finally put down his clipboard, joining in a final toast. Steve had stopped counting, content to simply enjoy the moment. It was a night to remember, full of laughter, song, and the promise of many more to come.
