SpongeBob adjusted his chef's hat with a gleeful smile. Patrick, wearing an apron adorned with stars, was busy arranging trays of cookies.
"Hey, Squidward! You'll be happy to hear we're out of the black lemonade business," SpongeBob announced, waving at Squidward who was reluctantly peeking out from the Krusty Krab's window.
"Yeah, it's all yours, buddy. Homemade cookies," Patrick added with a chuckle.
Squidward eyed the cookies suspiciously. "You know, a—a homemade cookie is just the kind of comfort food I could use right now. Thanks," he said, taking a cookie and biting into it.
His eyes widened in surprise. "Hey, these cookies are delicious! What's in them?" he asked.
"Spider eggs!" Patrick exclaimed with innocent enthusiasm.
"Yeah, say hello to our new partner," SpongeBob added, proudly presenting Mildred the Arachne, a giant red spider who waved a friendly leg.
Squidward let out a scream that echoed through the streets. He flailed wildly, trying to rid himself of the tiny arachnids.
"Get them off! Get them off!" he shrieked, inadvertently spraying ink from his nose and causing a scene reminiscent of an abstract art explosion.
SpongeBob handed Squidward a glass of milk. "Here, this will help," he said soothingly.
Mildred scuttled over, offering a tiny bouquet of sea flowers in apology. Patrick patted Squidward on the back. "Don't worry, buddy, they mean no harm," he assured.
Squidward, wiping the last of the ink from his face, managed a weak smile. "I guess there's never a dull moment with you two," he admitted.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the town continued to buzz with laughter and camaraderie. SpongeBob, Patrick, and even Mildred were surrounded by friends, their baking contest turning into an impromptu celebration of friendship and the unexpected joys of life under the sea.
