Gena sipped her tea, peering over her glasses at the screen. "Gena, I have just seen a Jedi Lightsaber for under £20, the grandkids will love them," one grandmother said to the other. Tanya, chuckling, replied, "Well, I have found a zombie sword for under £50." "I don’t think the grandkids are ready for a real sword yet," Gena giggled, imagining the scene.
Tanya shrugged, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "No, but we are old enough to buy a zombie sword. I am buying it," she declared, hitting 'Buy it Now!' on her screen. "What are you going to do with a zombie sword?" Gena asked, shaking her head with amusement. "Oh, I don’t know, swish it around a bit, put it under the bed in case of a burglar," Tanya laughed, her imagination running wild.
The next day, the Jedi lightsaber and Tanya's zombie sword arrived. Gena had nipped out for a bar of her favorite chocolate, leaving the package on the doorstep, documented with a quick photo by the driver.
Tanya arrived first, noticing the ajar door and the disarray inside. Clutching the long Amazon package, she cautiously entered, and saw a burglar rifling through Gena’s belongings. "You naughty thief!" she shouted, foolishly striking him with the package. The burglar laughed, easily overpowering her and tying her up in a chair.
Gena pushed open the door with her chocolate bar in hand, seeing the package on the step. Inside, she found Tanya bound and gagged. Quickly freeing her, "Gena, you are being burgled, call the police!" Tanya urged. Gena nodded, gripping the package and venturing further inside.
Gena met the burglar's gaze, holding the package with determination. "Stay back," she warned, swinging the package. The sword inside sliced through the air, surprising the intruder. As he approached, she swung again, the sharp blade cutting him. With a final, decisive blow, she incapacitated him, the threat neutralized.
Both grandmothers, exhausted but exhilarated, recounted their adventure to the police and the news crew that had gathered outside. "And you didn’t want a zombie sword," Tanya joked, her laughter infectious as they shared the tale with their families, becoming local legends in the process.
