Sam, the local prankster known for his elaborate jokes, was busy setting up his latest masterpiece. Today, he had his eyes set on Tom, his best friend, who had never fallen for any of his pranks. "This year, I'll get him for sure," Sam muttered to himself, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
Lucy, Sam's younger sister, watched him with curiosity. "What's the plan this time, Sam?" she asked, leaning over the table filled with prank paraphernalia. "Oh, just a little something involving a fake lottery ticket," Sam replied, holding up the ticket with a flourish.
Sam approached Tom with a casual demeanor. "Hey, Tom! Check this out, I found it on the ground," Sam said, handing him the fake lottery ticket. Tom examined it, his eyes widening in disbelief. "No way! This says I've won a million dollars!" Tom exclaimed, jumping to his feet.
Lucy joined the crowd, trying to suppress her giggles. "Did you actually buy it, Tom?" she asked, barely containing her laughter. Tom looked at her suspiciously, then turned to Sam. "Wait a minute... Is this another one of your pranks?" he asked, realization dawning on his face.
"Gotcha! April Fools'!" Sam declared, doubling over with laughter. Tom shook his head, a smile spreading across his face despite himself. "You finally got me, Sam. Well played," Tom admitted, joining in the laughter.
"So, what's next year's plan?" Lucy asked, her eyes twinkling with anticipation. "Oh, you'll just have to wait and see," Sam replied, winking at her. Tom leaned back, enjoying the moment. "As long as it doesn't involve fake million-dollar wins," he joked, and the laughter started anew.
