Addi stretched lazily in her bed, her black hair cascading over her pillow. She rubbed her eyes and sat up, feeling oddly different. "What the...?" she murmured, staring at her arms. Dark hair had sprouted overnight, covering her once smooth skin.
Daisy stood beside Addi, her blue eyes wide with shock as she examined her own reflection. "Addi, look at us! We look like yetis!" she exclaimed, pointing at the thick blond hair now adorning her body. The girls exchanged bewildered glances, their minds racing with questions.
As they entered the kitchen, they found their mothers chatting casually, both sporting the same unexpected hairiness. Addi's mom turned to them, a knowing smile on her face. "Oh, you've noticed," she said nonchalantly. Daisy stammered, "Mom, what is happening? Why are we all so... hairy?"
Addi's mom sat them down, her voice gentle yet firm. "It's a family trait, something that happens as you grow up," she explained. Daisy looked incredulous, "You mean to say this is normal?" Her mom nodded, "It's part of who we are. You'll get used to it."
Addi and Daisy sat on the porch steps, contemplating their new reality. After the initial shock, they began to laugh at the absurdity of it all. "We can be hairy together," Addi chuckled. "Yeah, we'll start a new trend," Daisy agreed, a smile spreading across her face.
As the day ended, the girls felt a newfound acceptance of themselves. They realized that their friendship and support for each other mattered more than any physical change. "No matter what we look like, we'll always have each other's backs," Addi said, linking arms with Daisy as they headed inside, ready to face whatever came next together.
