Evelyn Specter, a perfectionist ghost still clinging to the world of the living, floats gracefully in the pristine hallway, adjusting picture frames with ethereal hands. Tonight, she waits impatiently, her translucent form shimmering with anticipation.
"He’s late. If I wanted tardiness, I’d have hired a poltergeist," she mutters, glancing anxiously at the grand double doors.
Maxwell Graves, an exorcist with a flair for the dramatic—and questionable taste in reality TV—steps inside, blinking in the candlelight. Dust motes swirl around him, but he seems unfazed by the immaculate surroundings.
"Evening, Ms. Specter. I brought my own lighting. We want those before-and-afters to pop," he announces, setting up his tripod as if he’s done this a hundred times.
"Let’s be clear, Maxwell. This will be the most tasteful house-flipping reality show ever staged. No fake drama, no clutter, and certainly no ectoplasmic slime," Evelyn insists, her tone icy but poised.
"No problem, Ms. Specter. We’ll focus on transformation—paranormal to palatial. But I need creative freedom with the editing," Maxwell replies, grinning as he clicks through camera settings.
"Action! Evelyn, glide down the staircase like you’re inspecting your future buyers," Maxwell calls, peering through his camera. Evelyn floats with impeccable posture, pausing to dust an invisible speck from a banister.
"Remember: No orbs, no sudden temperature drops. This is a high-end haunting," Evelyn commands, her voice echoing softly through the hall.
"Evelyn, viewers love a good scare! Can’t you rattle a teacup or at least flicker the lights?" Maxwell pleads, setting up a dramatic shot.
"This isn’t amateur hour, Maxwell. We’re selling elegance and intrigue, not chaos," Evelyn snaps, floating through the counter in exasperation. The air crackles with spectral tension—enough for a perfect mid-season cliffhanger.
"The transformation is stunning—even without jump scares," Maxwell admits, scrolling through the footage. Evelyn, momentarily soft, allows herself a satisfied smile.
"A home can be hauntingly beautiful without being frightening. Sometimes, perfection is the best surprise of all," she says, her voice gentle. Together, they watch as the immaculate manor comes alive on screen—a reality show unlike any other, blending the spectral with the sublime.
