Ben stood at his locker, rummaging for his backpack, unaware of the mischief brewing around him. His friend, Tommy, was lurking nearby, a wicked grin on his face and a plan in his mind. "Hey, Ben, forgot something inside?" came Tommy's voice, casual yet teasing.
Ben turned around, noticing Tommy's mischievous expression. "What's so funny?" he asked, suspicion tinged with curiosity. Tommy just shrugged, trying to suppress his laughter.
Ben waved his hand in front of his nose, trying to dispel the odor. "Oh, man! What is that smell?" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of disbelief and amusement. Tommy couldn't hold back any longer and burst into laughter.
Ben stumbled into the hallway, still chuckling despite himself. "Alright, alright, you got me good," he admitted, giving Tommy a playful shove. "You should've seen your face!" Tommy replied, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.
Ben shook his head, still smiling. "Just wait until it's my turn," he warned, a gleam in his eye that promised future mischief. Tommy clapped him on the back, "I wouldn't have it any other way," he replied.
Lucy, with her bright smile and infectious energy, quickly became part of their circle. "If you think that was good, wait till you hear what happened last year," she said, drawing everyone into a new tale of laughter and friendship.
