Maddie eagerly surveys the endless buffet, her eyes wide as she piles her plate with shrimp, oysters, and lobster tails. She sits at a corner table, savoring the flavors, barely pausing between bites.
"This is the best dinner ever! I can't believe how much seafood there is," she exclaims, grinning at her overflowing plate.
Maddie tries to get comfortable, shifting in her seat as an uncomfortable bloat settles in. She presses her hands to her stomach, feeling the pressure build.
"I might have overdone it... Oof, my stomach feels so tight," she admits, giggling nervously as she glances toward the exit.
Maddie steps outside, hoping the fresh air will help. Suddenly, she lets out a loud, echoing burp, startling a couple passing by. She blushes, but can't help but chuckle at the relief it brings.
"Excuse me! That was...unexpected," she says, waving at the amused bystanders.
Maddie apologizes quietly, ducking her head as she makes her way to the restroom. The diners whisper and laugh, but Maddie keeps her spirits up, determined to find relief.
"Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself," she murmurs, smiling through her embarrassment.
Maddie sits, hoping for a quiet moment, but soon a series of loud farts escape, echoing through the room. The smell wafts out, and bystanders outside wrinkle their noses, exchanging surprised glances.
"Oh no, that was definitely not subtle," she whispers, mortified yet oddly relieved.
Maddie takes a deep breath, her embarrassment fading as she joins her family on the sidewalk. She laughs about her ordeal, making jokes and shrugging off the awkwardness.
"Next time, maybe I'll stick to just a few shrimp," she quips, her spirits lifted as she heads home under the stars.
