Lukas rushed around the kitchen, barely glancing at his breakfast as he grabbed a bag and shouted a quick goodbye to his mom. His mind was on the upcoming gym class, not realizing he had snatched the wrong bag.
Lukas opened his bag, expecting to find his usual gym clothes. Instead, he pulled out a brightly colored leotard with long sleeves and a zipper at the back. His heart sank as he realized he had taken his sister’s gym bag by mistake. "Oh no, this can't be happening," he muttered to himself, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks.
Lukas stood awkwardly at the edge of the court, wearing the leotard that fit him awkwardly. His classmates stopped and stared, some stifling giggles while others openly laughed. "Nice outfit, Lukas!" one of his friends called out, sparking more laughter.
Sophie, Lukas’s sister, sprinted with her bag in hand, her face set with determination. She had realized the mix-up and was eager to fix it before her brother faced too much embarrassment.
Sophie burst into the gymnasium, slightly out of breath but relieved to have made it in time. She waved her brother's gym bag in the air. "Lukas, I’ve got your clothes!" she called out, catching everyone’s attention.
Lukas felt the weight lift from his shoulders as he changed back into his comfortable attire. He joined his classmates with a grin, grateful for his sister’s timely intervention. "Thanks, Sophie," he said sheepishly. "Anytime, just be more careful next time!" she replied, giving him a playful nudge as they both laughed off the morning’s chaos.
