Tom lay sprawled on the couch, eyes glued to the screen as the credits of his favorite show rolled. "Another episode won't hurt," he mumbled to himself, reaching for a bag of chips. The snugness of his waistband, however, suggested otherwise.
"I swear these fit last week," Tom muttered, a frown creasing his brow. The reflection staring back was unfamiliar, a stark reminder of indulgent nights and neglected exercise.
Jake, a lifelong friend with a penchant for blunt honesty, leaned forward. "You know, I’ve noticed you’ve been... expanding your horizons," he teased lightly, offering a supportive smile. Tom chuckled despite himself, grateful for Jake's tactful encouragement.
Tom sighed, the weight of self-realization settling heavily on his shoulders. Jake's words lingered, a catalyst for change that he couldn't ignore. "Time to make some changes," he resolved, determination flickering in his eyes.
