Clara sat on the bench, her eyes scanning the garden with a sense of tranquility. In her hands, she held a pair of bright yellow wellies, slightly muddied from their last adventure. Her friend Maya stood nearby, her laughter echoing through the warm air as she recounted a funny story.
"I can't believe you actually got stuck in the mud last time," Maya teased, pointing at the wellies.
Clara chuckled, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "I bet I can fit into these, even if they're a bit snug," she replied, looking down at her friend’s boots.
Clara slipped off her own shoes, her bare feet brushing against the cool grass. She carefully eased one foot into the yellow wellie, feeling the rubber stretch slightly. Maya watched with amusement, arms crossed over her chest.
"Almost there," Clara muttered, trying to wiggle her toes into place. The wellie resisted, its snug fit making the task challenging. Maya stifled a giggle, offering a hand to steady her friend.
Clara finally managed to squeeze both feet into the boots, standing triumphantly with a grin. "I knew you could do it," Maya said, clapping her hands. They laughed together, Clara wobbling slightly in the tight fit.
"Next time, remind me to bring my own boots," Clara joked, looking down at the yellow wellies. Maya smiled, leaning back to gaze at the stars. Together, they enjoyed the quiet night, their laughter lingering in the air.
