Amara gazed at Keisha, her concern growing with each silent moment. "Keisha, yuh good?" she asked gently, noticing her friend's unusual quietness.
"Amara, I have a secret. But yuh haffi promise not to tell anybody," Keisha whispered, her voice barely audible. She looked up, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.
"Keisha, listen. What he’s doing is wrong, and it’s not your fault, eh?" Amara assured, squeezing Keisha's trembling hand. "We have to tell somebody who could help."
"But what if dey don’t believe me?" Keisha asked, her voice tinged with fear. "If one person don’t believe, we’ll tell another person. Somebody go listen. I’ll be right here with yuh," Amara declared with unwavering determination.
During break time, they found Miss Jacobs in the quiet library. Amara gave Keisha's hand a reassuring squeeze before speaking up. "Miss Jacobs, Keisha have somethin’ important to tell yuh," Amara began, her voice steady.
