Howard adjusts his goggles, his dark hair slicked back, and throws a challenging look across the pool.
Henry, blond and athletic, stretches his arms, refusing to break eye contact.
"You think you’re faster than me just because you won last month’s race?"
"Only because you cheated at the start, Howard," he retorts, a smirk on his lips.
"Maybe she just likes guys with real talent," Howard says, nodding toward the girl.
"Don’t kid yourself, Henry. She told me herself she thinks you’re arrogant,"
A ripple of laughter escapes the girl, fueling their competitive fire.
Howard lunges forward, sending a wave at Henry.
"Bring it on, Howard,"
They grapple and splash, each trying to dunk the other, their rivalry erupting in a chaotic water fight.
Howard wipes water from his brow, glancing at Henry, an uneasy truce settling between them.
"Guess you’re not as weak as I thought,"
"Neither are you," Howard admits, a reluctant smile forming.
Harry[/@ch_3], steps into the pool area. The storm light casts a golden halo around him, droplets glistening on his skin. Both Howard and Henry pause, their attention drawn instantly to the newcomer.]
Harry dives gracefully into the pool, his movements effortless.
The two rivals exchange a glance, curiosity and admiration mingling in their expressions.
"Maybe next time, we race as a team,"
"Deal. And loser buys the snacks,"
"Sounds fair to me," Harry grins as the three boys embrace, forming a new friendship in the wake of their stormy encounter.
