Princess Eloise stood at the foot of the stairs, her heart fluttering with excitement and a hint of nervousness. King Louis, regal and composed, placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Queen Marie, graceful as ever, adjusted her daughter's tiara with a loving smile. Henri, ever the mischievous younger brother, gave Eloise a teasing grin.
"Try not to get too excited, Eloise. It's just a party," he quipped, bounding up the stairs.
"It's not just any party, Henri. It's Rebecca's birthday," Eloise replied, her voice tinged with anticipation.
Eloise settled into her seat, the gentle vibrations of the plane soothing her into a drowsy state. Queen Marie and King Louis engaged in quiet conversation, discussing the itinerary for their visit. Henri, meanwhile, was engrossed in a video game, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the console.
As the hours passed, Eloise's eyelids grew heavy, and soon, she succumbed to sleep, her mind drifting away on the clouds outside.
Eloise wandered through the meadow, her bare feet brushing against the soft grass. The sun warmed her skin, and a sense of peace enveloped her. She twirled amongst the flowers, laughter bubbling from her lips.
But as dreams often do, this one began to shift. The meadow faded, and she found herself standing at the edge of a vast ocean, its waves crashing loudly against the shore.
Eloise blinked awake, the remnants of her dream slipping away like sand through her fingers. As awareness returned, she felt a dampness that made her cheeks flush with embarrassment. Her heart raced, and she glanced around, relieved to find her family still engrossed in their own worlds.
"Oh no," she whispered to herself, trying to remain calm.
Eloise hesitated, unsure of how to address her situation. But before she could decide, Queen Marie noticed her daughter's discomfort and leaned over with a gentle smile.
"Eloise, dear, is everything alright?" she asked softly.
"I... I had an accident," Eloise admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
King Louis offered a reassuring nod. "It's nothing to be ashamed of, Eloise. We'll sort it out," he assured her, signaling to the attendant for assistance.
Eloise emerged from the restroom with fresh clothes and a renewed sense of confidence, her family's support lifting her spirits. Henri gave her an encouraging wink, and Queen Marie squeezed her hand warmly.
"Let's make this a birthday to remember," Henri declared as the plane touched down.
"Yes, let's," Eloise agreed, feeling ready to embrace whatever awaited them in Ardona.
