Hunter walks in, his Jheri curls bouncing with each step. He sports a thick mustache and a Raiders bomber jacket, exuding cool confidence. The scent of incense and fresh vinyl mingles in the air as he gazes at the new album cover.
"Man, Straight Outta Compton. This is history right here," he says, picking up the album with reverence.
Hunter sits cross-legged, studying the faces on the cover: Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, DJ Yella. He runs his finger over Ice Cube’s image, eyes narrowing with admiration.
"Cube changed the game. Look at them all—real ones," he murmurs, almost to himself.
Ice Cube, charismatic and sharp-eyed, leans into the mic. Dr. Dre nods in agreement, while Eazy-E cracks a mischievous grin.
"We wanted to say something nobody else would. That's what Straight Outta Compton is,"
"Ain't nobody ready for it, man,"
"I wish I could meet 'em. Be in that room, feel that power," he whispers, voice thick with yearning. The TV audience cheers, making the moment feel electric and real.
"If you got something to say, say it loud,"
Hunter nods, feeling the pulse of Compton in his chest. The world outside seems quieter, but inside, the beats and rhymes are alive.
"This is for us. This is for everyone who never got to speak," he says, letting the first track explode into the room. The spirit of N.W.A. lives on, not just on screen or cover, but in every beat that follows.
