Jamal wiped his brow, glancing at his younger brother. Malik, despite the heat, wore a smile that never seemed to fade. "One day, we'll leave this place," Jamal said with determination in his eyes. "I know we will, Jamal," Malik replied, his voice filled with hope.
Jamal embraced Malik tightly, whispering promises of a better future. "I'll come back for you," he assured. Malik nodded, trying to mask his sadness. "Go make something of yourself, Jamal," he encouraged, watching his brother walk away with a heavy heart.
Jamal thought of Malik often, his brother's laughter a distant memory. Despite his achievements, a part of him remained in those fields. "It's time to go back," he decided, his heart yearning for home.
Malik paused as a figure approached, his heart skipping at the sight of Jamal. Tears filled his eyes as they embraced, the years of separation melting away. "I told you I'd come back," Jamal whispered. "And I never doubted you," Malik replied, his voice choked with emotion.
Jamal shared stories of the city, his successes, and his struggles. Malik listened, content in the knowledge that his brother had stayed true to his word. "Let's build something together," Jamal proposed. "Together," Malik agreed, their future as bright as the stars above.
