Lila sat on the edge of her bed, clutching her sketchbook like a lifeline. Her heart thudded in her chest as she imagined the new school and unfamiliar faces. "I can do this," she whispered to herself, though doubt lingered in her mind.
Lila joined her family at the table, her younger brother chattering excitedly about his new school. Her parents exchanged reassuring glances. "You'll make friends in no time," her mother said softly. Lila nodded, but the knot in her stomach tightened.
Lila found herself drawn to the park, seeking solace away from the noise of the world. She opened her sketchbook, letting her pencil dance across the page. The familiar motion eased her mind, if only for a moment.
Eli, a boy with an infectious smile, noticed Lila sketching alone. He approached cautiously, curiosity piqued. "What are you drawing?" he asked, peering over her shoulder. Lila hesitated, then showed him her sketches of the park. "Wow, that's amazing!" Eli exclaimed, his admiration genuine.
Lila found herself smiling as Eli talked about their new school. "I was nervous too," he admitted. "But it's not so bad once you meet a friend." Encouraged by his words, Lila felt the weight of anxiety start to lift.
With renewed confidence, Lila closed her sketchbook, feeling a spark of excitement about the first day of school. Her encounter with Eli had turned her fear into inspiration, and she knew she could face whatever lay ahead. "Tomorrow will be different," she thought, her heart lighter than before.
