Miridiam awoke with a sense of purpose and excitement. Today was her day off, and she planned to make the most of it. With her kids at school, she decided to meet up with friends for shopping and brunch. As she stepped out of her cozy flat, the sun kissed her face, and she felt the promise of a beautiful day ahead.
Miridiam wandered through the aisles, selecting summer clothes and underwear. Her arms soon overflowed, so she hung some items from her personal bag. She was in high spirits, looking forward to meeting her friends and enjoying the day.
Security Guard stopped Miridiam, asking to see her bag. Confused and taken aback, she explained her predicament. "I didn't have enough hand space," she insisted. But the guard, unmoved, called the manager, casting a shadow over her day.
Manager, with a cold demeanour, questioned Miridiam about the clothes in her bag. "I didn't intend to buy so much, and I forgot a basket," she explained, feeling the chill of disbelief. The manager decided to call the police, leaving her shocked and alone.
Miridiam found herself on the other side of the law, facing unjust accusations. The case dragged on for over three years, with false claims of theft haunting her. Each day in court chipped away at her strength, causing anxiety and paranoia to seep into her life.
Miridiam stood anxiously as the judge declared her innocent. The lack of evidence against her brought an end to the nightmare. "You're free to go," the judge announced, and a wave of relief swept over her. She walked out, determined never to return to Premark, her spirit finally unburdened.
