Jake stood in his bathroom, the soft hum of the fluorescent light above casting a pale glow over his tense features. He stared into the mirror, trying to ignore the familiar stirrings within. The Hulk was waking up again, and Jake knew he had to keep control. "Hulk, please, let us go to bed, and then some other time, you can come out," he implored, his voice barely above a whisper. The Hulk's response was immediate, a deep rumble echoing in Jake's mind. "Hulk wants to be in control of puny Jake, let Hulk out."
In his dreams, Jake found himself in a vast, shadowy landscape, the place where he often confronted the Hulk. Here, the Hulk appeared larger than life, a towering figure of raw power. "Let me be in control all the time because I don’t want anyone seeing me as you," Jake pleaded. The Hulk's laughter was a thunderous sound. "Hulk doesn’t care for Jake’s puny friends. Hulk wants control of Jake." They argued, Jake desperate to reclaim his autonomy, but the Hulk proposed a compromise that felt like a trap.
The next day, Jake sat across from Sean at a small café, the sun warm on their faces. As they ate, Sean leaned in, his voice filled with intrigue. "You know that Hulk guy on the news? Turns out he’s human, but because of some bad experiment, the Hulk takes control over him." Jake forced a smile, nodding. "Honestly, I’d love to let that much anger out in a separate form," Sean added. The comment unsettled Jake, aware that the Hulk was listening, curious about Sean's views.
Back at home, Jake stood before the mirror once more, contemplating his reflection. "Hulk, you there?" he asked, knowing the answer. "Hulk always here, puny human," came the reply. Jake took a deep breath, proposing a deal. "Let’s try to work this out. I’ll allow you to take control, but only if you swear to do good things and not destroy anything." The Hulk paused, considering this new arrangement.
Jake had reluctantly agreed to let the Hulk have control, and now he stood in the woods, the transformation taking its toll. His body twisted and grew, muscles expanding with a painful intensity. The Hulk reveled in its freedom, but Jake was still present, a silent observer. In this secluded space, the Hulk decided to meet Sean, revealing their shared secret. Sean was amazed, yet promised to keep it, finding the Hulk’s presence exhilarating.
One evening, as Jake spoke with his girlfriend, he felt the Hulk stir, unbidden. The transformation began, but Jake fought back, managing to stop it halfway, his body caught between forms. His girlfriend gasped, eyes wide with shock and fear. Jake realized that managing his transformations required constant vigilance, a delicate balance between two identities. "I can't keep a shirt on, it only makes it worse," he muttered, acknowledging this strange new aspect of his life.
