Ravi leaned against the old oak tree, his gaze wandering over the familiar faces until it landed on a new one. Nisha stood by the entrance, her eyes scanning the crowd with curiosity.
"Have you seen the new girl?" Vicky asked, appearing beside Ravi with his usual enthusiasm.
"Yeah, she's right there," Ravi replied, unable to tear his eyes away from her.
Nisha took a seat next to Ravi, her laughter brightening the room like a burst of sunshine. They exchanged smiles, and a new friendship began to blossom.
"What's your favorite subject?" she inquired, her voice light and inviting.
"Math, definitely," he answered, feeling an unexpected ease in her presence.
Vicky sat alone, flipping through pages absentmindedly, his mind elsewhere. He glanced at the empty chair beside him, a reminder of Ravi's absence.
"He's spending all his time with her now," Vicky murmured to himself, a hint of hurt in his voice.
Vicky caught up with Ravi, determination in his stride. Ravi paused, sensing the tension.
"You've changed, man," Vicky stated, his voice laced with frustration.
"I haven't changed, Vicky. I just... I like spending time with her," Ravi replied, his words faltering slightly under the weight of the truth.
Ravi sat alone, reflecting on Vicky's words. The realization of the growing distance between them settled heavily on his shoulders.
"I never wanted to lose my best friend," Ravi whispered to the gentle breeze, hoping it would carry his remorse.
Ravi approached Vicky, who stood by the oak tree, a familiar meeting point for their friendship.
"I'm sorry, Vicky. Can we find a way back to what we used to be?" Ravi asked, hope threading through his words.
"Of course, Ravi. Friends always find their way," Vicky replied, a smile breaking through the tension, sealing their bond once more.
