John sat on the porch steps, his mind swirling with thoughts of how to distinguish himself from his brother Jack. The pranks had become too much to bear, and he knew he had to do something drastic.
With determination, John applied the dye to his hair, watching the transformation in the mirror. "This will finally set us apart," he murmured to his reflection, hoping that this would end the confusion that plagued him daily.
Whispers and giggles followed him as he made his way to class. Jack, noticing the attention, seized the opportunity to twist the situation. "Look, I'm John! He's trying to prank everyone again," Jack declared with a smirk.
John sat alone under the shelter, the weight of the day's events heavy on his mind. He watched as Jack approached, his usual mischievous grin replaced by a sincere look. "I didn't mean for things to get out of hand," Jack admitted.
"I just wanted people to know who I am," John confessed, his voice barely audible over the rain. Jack placed a hand on his brother's shoulder. "I know, and I'm sorry for making it harder for you," he replied earnestly.
As they made their way back, John realized that despite their differences, their bond was unbreakable. Jack, too, understood the importance of standing by his brother, not against him. They shared a quiet smile, knowing that from now on, they would face the world together.
